Dog-friendly restaurant in Birmingham

The "BrewDog Birmingham" in Birmingham, England, is a lively restaurant and craft beer bar that is part of the renowned BrewDog chain, a Scottish company known for its innovative beer culture. It opened its doors in 2012 and has since established itself as a staple of the local dining scene. The restaurant is centrally located in the city and features a distinctive industrial design with exposed metal beams, brick walls, and a modern, unconventional atmosphere that perfectly aligns with its "punk" ethos. It is not just a place for beer lovers, but also a meeting point for anyone seeking quality food and a relaxed yet energetic vibe. Notably, the venue is dog-friendly—a hallmark of BrewDog, which warmly welcomes four-legged friends with treats and water.

Craft beer bar with American cuisine

Culinarily, "BrewDog Birmingham" offers an American-inspired menu with a focus on hearty, satisfying dishes. A highlight is the indulgent burgers, such as the Patriot Burger, which impresses with juicy beef and a spicy sauce. There are also strong options for vegetarians and vegans, like the Plant Powered Patriot, proving that plant-based cuisine can be just as flavorful. The famous Buffalo Chicken Wings are another crowd favorite—crispy fried and drenched in a hot yet balanced sauce that leaves you wanting more. The sides, such as Truffle Cheese Fries, enhanced with truffle oil and melted cheese, are also a delight and complete the experience. For dessert, the Chocolate Brownie, served warm, offers a rich texture that makes for a perfect ending.

Vegan food in Birmingham restaurants

Of course, beer is a significant focus at BrewDog, and "BrewDog Birmingham" does not disappoint in this regard. The bar boasts an impressive selection of house-made craft beers, all of which are vegan, as well as guest beers from breweries around the world. Particularly popular is the Punk IPA, a fruity, hoppy beer that embodies the rebellious spirit of the brand. For those seeking something lighter, the Lost Lager is a refreshing alternative with a clear, crisp note. In addition to beer, there's also a range of cocktails and spirits that round out the offerings and provide variety. The bar regularly hosts events such as beer tastings or "Wings Wednesday," where guests can enjoy unlimited wings—a hit among regular patrons.

The service is often described as friendly and knowledgeable, with staff not only working quickly but also eager to share information about the beers and dishes. However, there are occasional reports of longer wait times during peak hours or minor mishaps with orders, which is not unusual in such a bustling venue. "BrewDog Birmingham" also scores points for its versatility: it offers a children's menu and brunch options on weekends, making it appealing for families. The menu's split between vegetarian and vegan dishes further demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability and inclusion.

I dont really like leaving bad reviews as i appreciate places have off days and mistakes are made which is why i chose to reach out to Birmingham Brewdog by email and not just leave a stinky review. However given that i sent my email to them on the evening of 15th Feb (the day of our visit) and they havent so much as acknowkedged or replied at all, i now feel justified in leaving my review here. Had a table booked for 1pm. Arrived a litle early so was seated at 12:50. Great! Ordered 2 burgers and 2 fries with a server in person. 45 minutes minutes later - no food yet. Politely asked if they could check on progress. Was told they had an error with the order printing device and they had only just got our order through and that it would be a "few more minutes". No problem! Was also told it would be on the house too - lovely gesture - very much appreciated! 15 more minutes passed - enquired again as we had a train to catch 90 minutes after our booking time. Was told that the original server hadn't put the order through at all and they had no record of our order - this despite what we were told just 15 minutes earlier! They said the best they could do would be to get it to us in around 15 minutes. This would give us 5 minutes max to scoff it down and run for the train. Something my wife couldnt have done! End up eating nothing at all, leaving hungry with no time to grab anything else before making our train so was also hungry for our entire train journey. Big fan of Brewdog in general but this was a major let down - including their inability to respond to emails.

Attended a Spirits tasting with 3 others and really enjoyed it , we had Gins and Vodkas to sample along with a mixer and found it to be a good way to sample different flavours.

If I could give zero stars I would. Slow and poor customer service.

Me and my partner booked for wings Wednesday along side our new baby in tow in a pushchair. We were looked after sooo well, this isn’t our first outting with our little girl, and we are more than aware how difficult it is to get a table with space for a pushchair. We were looked after so well, I didn’t catch the name of our server but she was absolutely fantastic. Half term in hospitality is hard, she made it look easy!

Only had a couple of beers here but both were decent. Mainly just wanted to “shout out” the staff especially the lady bar manager (didn’t catch her name) who was really friendly!

I’m usually looking for beers with bitter flavors and I tried Black Heart 🖤 which was one of the best I’ve ever had!

Popped in while waiting for a train to be told they’ve closed half an hour before their advertised opening hours. I wouldn’t have come in if it hadn’t been advertised as being open. I would’ve understood the glances at watches had I been told when I walked in, but to wait for me to have a look at the selection before telling me they were closed? That was disappointing.

Do not go for food. So disappointing. There was a 40 minute wait and when it came out all 4 burgers were completely burnt. I couldn't eat mine. We were offered replacements but we had to go to a gig so were refunded instead. Atmosphere was good, staff were great, beer selection was ok. Also £3.75 to add fries to the burger is extortionate. Frustrating that we left hungry

Wing Wednesday! Had brilliant beer with some chicken wings. The service was really slow (had to wait 30mins for 6 chicken wings) but the taste and atmosphere was decent.

Popped in for a pint and some food lunch time on a Thursday. Told food was was pre order only and couldn’t order food despite 2 or 3 tables eating on a quiet Thursday afternoon. Had a pint wasn’t bad and left.

It was fine. A lot smaller and less well kept than the Pllymouth one I'm used to. But older, so forgiven. Still good beer.
